Dr. Bruce E. Turner was born in Richmond, Indiana, on January 27, 1950. He and his lovely wife Reva have two children, Justin and Vanessa. Pastor Turner received a G.Th. from Baptist Bible College in 1973, a B.R.E. from Baptist Christian College in 1982, and a D.D. from Landmark Baptist College. Pastor Turner has served as chairman and vice-chairman on numerous college boards and fellowships. He has also served as moderator of the Global Independent Baptist Fellowship.
Pastor Turner founded and pastored Baptist Temple in Holbrook, Massachusetts, from 1974 until 1988. He became the pastor of West Gate Baptist Church in 1988. Under his leadership, West Gate planted numerous independent Baptist churches nationally and internationally. In 2005, he also became the founder and first president of Florida Baptist College, a ministry of West Gate Baptist Church.
In 2010, Pastor Turner began a new phase of his ministry as he stepped down from the pastorate and became Pastor Emeritus of West Gate and the Chancellor of Florida Baptist College. Dr. Turner currently travels full-time across the country preaching at missions conferences, revivals, and other events.
