HOME Our Pastor
Dr. Bruce E. Turner was born in Richmond, Indiana January 27, 1950. He and his lovely wife, Reva have two children, Justin and Vanessa. Pastor Turner received a G.Th from Baptist Bible College in 1973, a B.RE from Baptist Christian College in 1982, and a D.D from Landmark Baptist College. Pastor Turner has served as chairman and vice-chairman on various college boards and fellowships. He has also served as moderator of the Global Independent Baptist Fellowship.
Pastor Turner founded and pastored Baptist Temple in Holbrook, Massachusetts from 1974 until 1988. He became the pastor of West Gate Baptist Church in 1988. Under his leadership since then, West Gate has planted numerous independent Baptist churches nationally and internationally.
Under Pastor Turner's leadership and vision West Gate chartered a new course with the founding of Florida Baptist College in 2005, of which he serves as founder and president. Pastor Turner is a man of great faith and vision and has faithfully proclaimed the Word of God without compromise for 41 years.

On August 8th, 2010, Pastor Turner will begin a new phase of his ministry as he steps down from the pastorate and becomes the Chancellor of Florida Baptist College. Doctor Turner will continue on staff at West Gate as Pastor Emeritus. He will be travelling full-time across the country preaching in missions conferences, revivals, and other events.
